Overview
Considered one of the world’s top travel places to visit, Rabat is an exciting blend of modern metropolitan city and historic fortress, with Almohad ramparts and gates, that date back to the 12th century. Situated on splendid Atlantic coastline of North Africa at the mouth of the mythical Bou Regreg river, where the majestic Bouregreg marina has excellent facilities for boats and yachts. Rabat’s rich heritage resulting from ten centuries of changing rulers and empires has given the city an extraordinary legacy of historical sites.
The more historically recent colonial architecture is situated along wide well-kept palm-lined streets that are almost entirely free of traffic. The general atmosphere of Morocco’s capital city is pleasant and surprisingly laid back. Explore the numerous local markets like the thriving Souk Es Sebat; it is a shoe market where-in you can find leather goods, handcrafted barouches and exquisite jewellery. On the other hand, the busy Rue des Consuls market lets you buy fabrics, copper and deep pile carpets which are crafted by artisans as you watch.

Climate
