  • Economy Class - 20 kg or 44 lbs without extra charges.
  • Business Class - 30 kg or 66 lbs.
  • Single bag weighing over 32 kilos won’t be accepted at the check-in counters and you could be advised to re-pack your items before your check-in.

For passengers flying to the US or Canada, there is ‘A Piece System’ in place. Baggage items or pieces that require check-in must not be larger than 158cm each in total dimension (length + width + height), and should not weigh over 23kgs. We advise you to check with the airline baggage allowance by contacting them. This would help you avoid unnecessary delays and inconvenience. You must make special arrangements with the airline well in advance in case you are travelling with items (such as sporting equipment) exceeding the 32kg weight limit. In case, you are carrying items beyond the permissible weight limits, an additional cost will be applicable that could further be confirmed by the airline.

It is advised to check with the concerned authorities for your visa requirements. Here are some of the websites where you can find up-to-date information on passport, visas, health & travel advise:

www.homeoffice.gov.uk

www.fco.gov.uk

www.iatatravelcentre.com

Generally, you will need a visa for entering a non-EU country. Transit visa will be required if you have a stopover in a third world country. We suggest you go through visa requirements by visiting the particular country’s (of the destination city) page at the Foreign & Commonwealth Office website. You may also contact the embassy, high commission or consulate of the destination country for an up to date information on immigration, visa & entry requirements. This is particularly important for non-British citizens including passengers of EU nationalities.

Make sure that your travel documents are in order as you prepare for your departure. You may be turned away from the airport check-in, in case you haven’t come with proper documentation. Further, most countries forbid entry on a one-way ticket in the absence of relevant visa or documentation.

Advance Passenger Information or API is collected for all passengers before travel to/from specific countries, including UAE, South Africa, USA, Spain, Thailand and China. The law mandates airlines to collect the following API:

  • Passport number
  • Nationality
  • Gender
  • Full name as it appears on the passport
  • Country of residence
  • Date of birth
  • Passport number, country of issue and expiry date

While most of the above details could be collected through passport reader during check-in, collecting some new information during check-in may result in serpentine queues, thus slowing down the flight check-ins. Hence API is collected in advance during your flight booking. For more on this, you may call our customer care advisor at 0204 529 2300

Please note that for US-bound travel, you will be required to furnish an address in the US for first night's accommodation. This includes the name of the hotel, street, city, state and zip code.
