Transport from Delhi
For visitors coming from North America, Indira Gandhi International Airport is the main entrance and reaching the main city is hassle-free. All cheap flight travellers can hop on the Airport Express Metro from Terminal 3 which takes around 20-minutes and charges ₹20 for the city centre. If we talk about buses, they consume a little more time (60-minutes) and costs around ₹50. On the other hand, taxis are quicker but charges around ₹400. - Try and learn some words of the local tongue like Namaste (hello), Kitna Hua? (how much?), Shukriya (thank you), Maaf Kardo (I am sorry). These words will definitely let you smoothly blend between the locals.
- Do not offer a tip to taxi drivers more than 10% as that should be enough.
- Bargaining will surely let you purchase clothes, shoes and other items at very cheap prices than normal. Never hesitate from asking discounts, it’s your right.
