Overview
The vibrant capital city of Khyber Pukhtunkhwa in beautiful Pakistan, Peshawar is a famous holiday destination where thousands of visitors around the world come to see mosques, museums, markets and historic places and monuments, but it also offers some amazing food, music and art to enjoy. The Smugglers bazaar provides a convenient location to haggle, shop and generally take in the hustle and bustle of this buzzing retail spot. The Peshawar Museum is housed in a Victorian-Gothic style building and offers its visitors the opportunity to see the biggest collection of Gandharan art in the world.
Ancient traditions blend with contemporary ones in Peshawar. The Army Stadium is famous for stalls where you can haggle over prices for traditional craft items. Being a family night on Saturdays, many families relax, picnic, and stroll through the park enjoying the rides. The Bala Hisar fort provides a glimpse into the area’s military and cultural history. The tomb of Ziarat Rahman Baba is located in a lush, green area and is a shrine to this 17th-century poet.

Climate
The city has a semi-arid climate, with very hot summers. Winter in the city is mild and runs from the middle of November to late March. The summer extends from May to September and it is generally very hot, with average maximum temperatures of 104 degrees Fahrenheit and a minimum of 77 degrees. Best Time To Visit
The summer months of May to September may get very hot and some tourists choose not to travel to the city, resulting in lulls during the very hottest part of summer. The rainy winter months of November to March may offer better deals than early or late summer. The festive season, school vacations and events like Eid celebrations may result in much higher rates on both hotel accommodations and airfare packages. Look out for seasonal deals as there are a few airlines and hotels that offer amazing peak season deals by being generous.

Peshawar Attractions and Activities
1. Peshawar Museum
Housed in a glorious Victorian Mughal-Gothic hall across the tracks from the Old City, the Peshawar Museum has the world’s largest collection of Gandharan art, ranging from friezes and statues depicting the life of Buddha to winged cupids and Herculean heroes.

2. Smuggler’s Bazaar
On the fringes of Peshawar as you head towards the Khyber Pass is the Smugglers' Bazaar (Karkhanai Bazaar). It thrives openly on the sale of goods imported through Pakistan for Afghanistan, then smuggled back through the Tribal Areas to avoid paying duty.

3. Mahabat Khan Mosque
West of Chowk Yadgar is Mahabat Khan Mosque, the most famous mosque in the city. You can enter the mosque and look around at the lavish tiled interior and also get a good view of the plaza and minarets from an ancient caravanserai to the east.

4. Bala Hisar Fort
The eye-catching Bala Hisar Fort and its bleak ramparts still seem to monitor the movement along the Grand Trunk Rd. After capturing Peshawar, Babur built a fort in 1526 which was a luxurious, royal residence for the Afghan Durrani dynasty prior being captured, trashed.
