Tips for your stay in Algiers
  • Avoid travelling outside the towns of Djanet, Tamanrasset and Bourdj Bou Arreridj without a local guide.
  • Ask the locals for suggestions and snap up an invitation to eat at a family home.
  • Get the updated advice before you fly, speak to a knowledgeable tour operator and always make sure you listen to the locals for restaurants and other sights once you’re there.
  • Being a tourist, never explore the city alone; always roam around with a guide.
  • WiFi connectivity is quite poor, even the high-end business hotels don’t offer high speed internet so make sure you have internet data in your local SIM bought from the city as it might help you use Google Maps and other useful applications.
